Swags and Tails give the ultimate look of distinction to your room.  The graceful drape of the swags combined with overlay or staggered tails completes the ultimate opulent look.

Secure fitting of Swags and tails is achieved by stapling them onto a wooden pelmet board pre-fixed to the wall using angle brackets.  The board should measure 7 – 15cms deep and 2.5cms thick. The length of the pelmet board should include an overlap of approximately 15cms either side of the window.  A curtain track can be fitted either slightly lower on the wall or to the underside of the pelmet board.

Swags

There are numerous ways of fitting swags. The
main three being overlapping; continuous and
non-overlapping with jabots.

The drop of swags can be customised to suit the window and can be self or contrast piped, or have bullion or tassels sewn onto the bottom.

The length of the pelmet board dictates the width of the swags, as a guide:-

Tails
There are two main styles of tails, overlay and staggered.

The length of the tails can be customised to compliment the overall look; the return of the tails should equal the depth of the pelmet board.

Tails should be contrast lined and can have bullion or fringing etc. sewn on the edges
